About Alison

This is me, Alison, on the living room sofa with my family. I am a wife, mum, voracious reader, amateur photographer, and I homeschooled my four kids. My husband and I have been married for 26 years and live in a small town nestled in the rolling foothills of southwestern Pennsylvania, about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh.

I started blogging way back in 2009 about homeschooling, then branched out into other topics like recipes, decorating, gray hair, and faith. I am a life-long follower of Jesus Christ, with a Reformed theological perspective.

I began homeschooling in 2004 when my eldest, Noah, was five. As of right this moment, he is in the Air Force and we have a senior and sophmore at Messiah Universtiy and Geneva College, and one final high schooler who is wrapping up his senior year and has absolutely no clue what he wants to do after high school. I have transitioned back into the workforce, working for (of all the unexpected things) a public school district. But the Lord is full of surpises and you just never know what's around the next bend in the road.

If you've been reading me for a few years, you'll know that I've switched platforms and names a few times, but I'm happily back to Blogger, where the hosting is free and the options are few.

I am thrilled you're here, and hope that you'll stick around long enough for us to get to know each other a bit. If you have a question, or just want to introduce yourself, you can email me. I try to respond to everyone.
