Renovating the Downstairs Bath

so

i was looking through photos on my laptop

and realized that i'd never shared the finished pictures

of our downstairs bathroom makeover

i'm a bad blogger

when we first bought our house

the bathroom had faded wallpaper

a stained tub surround

old cabinetry

and a cracked and stained piece of lino

covering the floor

ick

we immediately stripped the wallpaper and painted

but put everything else on hold

Chad began gutting the shower surround

and ripping up the floor

we'd had some leaking that bubbled the plaster

and there was a corner of the floor that was rotten

after a lot of work

and help from Chad's brother

we leveled the subfloor

and laid new tile

redid the surround from the studs out

finishing with subway tile and tinted grout

and painted everything

installed new shower faucets

and hardware

really

a mini-reno

that worked within our limited budget

c'mon in!

as you can tell

the downstairs bath

is also the laundry room

it's certainly not the ideal setup

but it works

someday

we'll install stacking machines

a small work table

cabinets

and louvered doors to close it off

you can see a bit of the flooring

we used Allure from Home Depot

and really like it

it's a floating floor

and very budget friendly

one of my favorite things

about our new bath

is that it's done!

one more project

checked off our endless list

what are you working on, right now?
