lately
my daughter and i
have been finding any excuse
to run to McDonald's
and order up a couple of yummy chocolate chip frappes
but then i found out
that a small has over 500 calories
yikes
so i figured i could maybe make my own
after hitting the Pinterest boards
and not finding exactly what i wanted
i experimented to come up with this
a frothy
frosty
chocolatey
chippy
Chocolate Chip Mocha Frappe
it takes a little forethought
but is so totally worth it
a few hours before making
- pour low fat milk into ice cube tray and freeze (canned evap milk is awesome for this because it is creamy and low-fat)
- brew and chill your favorite coffee
to make
you'll need
- frozen milk cubes (made ahead of time)
- chilled coffee (made ahead of time)
- chocolate syrup
- mini chocolate chips
- cold milk or chocolate milk
add to your blender
- six milk cubes
- 1/2 cup of coffee
- a couple squirts (more or less, to taste) of chocolate syrup
- a dribble or two of milk
- a small handful of mini chips
as you can see
my measurements allow
for a little wiggle room
as in
depending on how much wiggle room
you'd like in your favorite jeans
add more or less of the chocolaty stuff
blend away
pour into your favorite to-go glass
add whipped cream and a drizzle of syrup
and enjoy
some optional add-ins for a richer treat:
- ice cream
- real cream
- caramel syrup
- anything that ends in the words cream or syrup
you can also substitute almond milk
for a dairy-free treat
you're welcome

so let's connect!
