when we bought the duff house
big's room-to-be
was garishly wallpapered
with big blue flowers
big's room-to-be
was garishly wallpapered
with big blue flowers
not his thing
or anybody's thing, reallythough we stripped the offensive paper
pretty quickly
it wasn't until this summer
that we managed to paint
and finish his space
fortunately
my eldest
wasn't all that concerned about his
decor
we started with
raw walls
in all their patchy glory
after a trip to home depot for paint
which big chose all by his onsie
mostly
and with all the kids at day camp for the week
i had plenty of time to patch
sand
prime
patch some more holes that i didn't see the first time
sand
prime
patch some additional very hard to see holes
sand
prime
ignore a few extra little holes that nobody will ever notice anyway
paint
clean out
fluff
most everything in here was cheap or free
like curtains from ebay
the game board and street sign
were old tag sale finds
that had been marinating in the attic for a few years
which is awesome
big's bedding was bought on clearance
at walmart last year
instead of one particular theme
i was really going for a look that says
all american boy with a dash of vintage charm
the look big was going for?
whatever mom anything not lame but other than that i pretty much don't care
which means
Nailed It.
